Jirayu Peetakul 

Jirayu Peetakul is currently a doctor student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.

Jirayu Peetakul received B.E. degree in computer engineering from Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand in 2015, M.E. degree from Kochi University of Technology, Kochi, Japan in 2017. He is pursuing the doctoral degree at Hosei University, Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests include algorithm and VLSI architecture for hardware implementation of compressive sensing.

In his research, he proposed a low complexity algorithm consists of structured memory less binary Hadamard matrix, prediction units to residual the redundant and Inverse Fast Walsh-Hadamard Transform (IFWHT) for image reconstruction. The proposed algorithm will be implemented on surveillance camera with low cost in VLSI devices.

Pham Do Kim Chi is currently a doctor student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. Before studying in Hosei University, she received her B.S. in Computer Science from University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2017.

While an undergraduate, she did her thesis in MMLAB-UIT. She interests in image processing, Machine Learning, especially Convolutional Neural Networks. She is now starting in video coding and using Machine Learning in video coding.

Chen Fu recently joined the IIST program of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, honored to be a doctor student study in Prof.Zhou's Lab for the next few years.

Chen Fu get his master degree in Fuzhou University, China, 2020. His main major is communication and information system. The direction of his research is Video Coding Transmission System based on SoC-FPGA, completed the encoder system simulation verification on the VCS, which built a Quartus project, and fulfilled on-board verification on Intel's Arria 10 series development kit. Mr. Fu latest research interests include algorithm and architecture design for ultra-high-throughput video coding, and has in-depth research on the entropy coding module in video coding.

Zhiqiang Zhang

Zhiqiang Zhang is currently a doctor student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.

Zhiqiang Zhang received the B.S. and the M.S. degree from Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, China, in 2017 and 2020. His research interests include image synthesis, multi-modal learning, game theory, computer vision, and deep learning. 

The core research topic of his doctoral stage is to realize the arbitrary conversion between text, speech, and image, and then use these three kinds of data to realize video synthesis.

Trinh Man Hoang is currently a doctoral student of IIST program at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.


Trinh Man Hoang received his B.E. degree in Computer Science from the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2018, M.E. degree from Hosei University, Japan in 2020. He is continuing the doctoral degree at Hosei University, Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests include Video Coding, Deep Learning, and Multimedia Processing.


In his research, he proposed a lightweight Block-Constrained network at the post-processing stage to reduce block artifact, an efficient framework for image layered compression with encoder-decoder matching semantic segmentation and enhancement. The proposed have outperformed some well-known compression codecs such as HEVC and BPG.

Jiayao Xu is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. Before studying in Hosei University, she received her B.S. in Computer Science from Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST) in 2018.She enrolled into the Excellent Engineer Class of Computer Science and Technology by passing three examinations at 2015. In the same time, she joined into the Laboratory of Mobile Internet as an iOS developer. In the Laboratory, she studied the iOS development by herself and accomplished an application called iSWUST in iOS version with the group members. This application convenient the life of students in SWUST and it was published on the App Store at 2016. Her current research interest is image reconstruction based on the Compressed Sensing.

Minh-Man Ho received his B.S. in Computer Science (Honor Program) from the University of Information Technology (UIT), Ho Chi Minh city in 2017. During 2017-2018, he worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at the EyeQ Tech company. His works and research concentrated on Computer Vision, Image Processing, Deep Learning and its application in real life.


He used to be a member of MMLAB-UIT when he was undergraduate, doing his thesis "Face Recognition in the video using Discriminant Incoherent Component Analysis".
Currently, he is an IIST master student at the Department of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan, also a member of MMLAB-Hosei under Prof. Jinja Zhou's supervision. His current research fields include machine learning, image processing, video compression with the specific topic is "Improve video compression performance using deep learning".

Jian Yang is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate  School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University,Japan. Before  studying in Hosei University, he received his B.E. in Computer Science  and Technology from Southwest University of Science and Technology  in 2019. 


He studied a little deep learning and neural networks in his  undergraduate and was very interested in them. His current research  direction is the application of Super-resolution reconstruction  based on deep learning.

Mingjie Xiao

Mingjie Xiao is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. Before studying Hosei University, he received his B.S. in Communication Engineering from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing city in 2019.


While an undergraduate, his graduation project is handwritten digital recognition. He interested in image recognition, Deep Learning. He is now starting in object detection and using Deep Learning in object detection.

Tran Thi Thu Thuy is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. She interests in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, especially Object Detection. She is now starting in Compressive Sensing and Moving Parts Detection.

Nguyen Tan Ho is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. Before studying Hosei University, he received her B.S. in Computer Science from University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2019.

 

He used to work in MMLAB-UIT when he was undergraduate, doing his thesis "Person search in surveillance camera network". His research topic now is "Image Enhancement in Video Coding"

Qirui Gu

Qirui Gu is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. In 2019, before studying in Hosei University, he received his B.E. in Computer Science and Technology from Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST), China.

He was engaging in visualization during the time of undergraduate. After becoming a member of the MMLAB-Hosei, he started researching on SLAM under the supervision of Prof. Jinjia Zhou. Besides, he is also a big fan of sports, especially basketball and soccer.

Peiqi Liu

Peiqi Liu is currently reading the master course at IIST College at Hosei University. Her major is application informatic, and she is now studying ORB-SLAM2 under the leadership of Zhou Jinjia sensei.


The basic concept of this technology is to let the robot start from an unknown location in the unknown environment, locate its position and pose through repeated observations of the environmental characteristics during the movement, and then build an incremental map of the surrounding environment based on the obtained data. 


Before coming to Japan, she studied Internet of Things engineering at Tianjin university in China. Her undergraduate project is about Android application programming using the Android studio platform.

キャサリン・ウェイトヘラ・ワンガリ

Catherine waithera wangari is a master’s student in IIST at Hosei university. She is in the school of science and engineering undertaking her major in applied Informatics. Her research topic is in simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and deep learning. SLAM research is based on the theory that robots should be able to determine their current position in an environment and even go further to create a local map to guide them in an unknown environment. Deep learning methods, which are greatly applied in the field of computer vision, are also applicable to the SLAM field.

 

Catherine has also researched in sentiment analysis and machine learning in her previous works as a master’s student in Information Technology at JKUAT University. Her undergraduate was in JKUAT University, Kenya, where she pursued Bachelors in Computer Technology.

Alaa Zein El Abdein Marouf

Alaa Zein El Abdein Marouf is currently a master student of IIST program in Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. She is in the school of science and engineering undertaking her major in applied Informatics. 


After becoming a member of the MMLAB-Hosei, she started researching on “DNN Model Compression Technologies” under the supervision of Prof. Jinjia Zhou. 


In 2016, before studying in Hosei University, she received her master of science degree in the field of sensor network security from faculty of engineering, Tanta University, Egypt.

 

Alaa is electronics lab engineer at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) since 2013.

Xin Cheng
CHENG

Xin Cheng is currently a doctoral student of the IIST program at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.
 
Xin Cheng received the B.S. and the M.S. degree from Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, China, in 2016 and 2021. His research interests include physical design, machine learning applications on CAD. 
 
The core research topic of his doctoral stage is to accelerate and optimize chip placement algorithms based on parallel computing platforms.

Keren HE is currently a master student in the IIST program at the Graduate  School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.

 

Before studying at Hosei University, she received her B.E. degrees in Software Engineering from both Guangxi University of Science and Technology and Southern Cross University in 2021.

 

Her research plan is to use artificial neural networks for digital image and/or video compression. Also, she is interested in general AI-related technologies and the uses of them in practical data science related applications.

Yueqiao Qiu is currently  studying for a master's degree at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan. 
Yueqiao Qiu received the B.S. degree from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing, China, in 2015. His currently research interests is SLAM technology . The core research topic is Visual SLAM and  algorithm

Osa Ryusei

Ryusei Osa is currently  a master's student of Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hosei University, Japan.
He studied the fundamentals of machine learning in undergraduate school and did research on semantic segmentation. His current research focuses on the synthesis of non photorealistic images.
